Intermittently losing internet connection
For the past week I have been losing internet connection intermittently on my desktop computer. Maybe every 3-10 minutes it will occur, and the loss of connection will only be for one or two seconds. Obviously, this isn’t a massive issue, but as I play a lot of online multiplayer games the loss of connection has become a very annoying issue as I keep getting kicked from games because of this.
I have verified that my ethernet cable is plugged in properly (CAT 6 ethernet cable). I have also replaced the cable with a new one altogether and still having this issue. I have tried resetting my modem/router and the issue remains. I have even traded out my modem/router with a new one through Xfinity, assuming the issue might be solved by doing so. The issue still remains.
The WiFi connection seems to not take this intermittent hit, as when I’m streaming TV shows, there’s no loss of connection. This issue is also occurring at various times throughout the day, so I am assuming that heavy internet use in my area is not part of the problem either.
My desktop is a very new gaming PC that I built myself. The ethernet cable is plugged directly into my motherboard (ASRock Z790).
