    Process change at startup

    Turn computer on, very slow, I get different pictures which whomever wants me to have or buy. overall, the computer is very slow. I want to eliminate the program which gets these pictures and displays them. Not just stop the display but eliminate the that part of the system. WINDOWS 11, HP COMPUTER, I’m not totally ignorant about computers,BUT ITS BEEN YEARS SINCE I WORKED ON ONE. The last system I used was XP. Which was great by the way. I have this computer about 2 years but just now have reasons to use it on a daily basis. I do appreciate any direction which can help me resolve this issue.

      Let me suggest that you go into the system tools to confirm which applications/processes that are running in the background. Confirm which applications that you use and disable the ones that you do not. I am not suggesting outright deleting them in case they are needed/required but to make a log of any that you do disable in case they needed to be reactivated.

      Probably you downloaded or installed that program yourself, albeit inadvertently. In the startup tab of Task Manager, see what programs are run at start up. It might not be a complete list, but there’s a good chance it’s one of those. Research all programs you’re not sure of if they are needed. In case of doubt, post the programs you’re not sure of in your reply.

      Look for “personalization” and set your desktop background image to one stored on your PC, it sounds like a recent Windows 11 update installed
      the slideshow type wallpaper, which can slow down your PC.
