LOOK: Things from the year you were born that no longer exist

Iconic (and sometimes silly) toys, technologies and electronics have been usurped since their official entry, either through technological advancements or through breakthroughs in common sense. See how many things on this list trigger childhood memories – and which were there and gone so quickly you missed them completely.

Many of the actresses in this story have not only made a name for themselves through their collection of iconic performances, but also through the altruistic and philanthropic nature with which many of them have approached their fame. In an age of turning the storyline on societal norms, many of these actresses use their voices and platforms to advocate for those who would otherwise go unheard.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the investigation into a fatal knife incident that occurred at 174 Walnut Drive in the town of Beekman around 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Police note that the house has a Pawling mailing address.

MPs responded to Walnut Driver’s home for a report of an active disturbance in which a man stabbed other people.

A preliminary investigation found that Willem C. Salcius, 32, of Beekman, started an altercation with neighbors, in which he repeatedly stabbed three people, police said.

Salcius then committed suicide, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.

William E. McGoorty, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Robert M. McGoorty, 30, and Edward M. McGoorty, 58, are being treated in hospital. The police did not publish his conditions.

The McGoortys and Salcius knew each other, but the motive remains unclear, police say.

The investigation is continuing by the Sheriff’s Office of Detectives, and more information may be released at a later date.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, the Beckman Fire Department, the Department of Pawling Fire, Union Vale Fire Department, City of Dover EMS and EMStar.
