A leading prepress specialist for the North American flexo market, XSYS has focused on supporting its customers in the packaging industry with innovative technologies that allow them to print securely and to stay flexible.
The global company has a unique market advantage as a supplier for the full range of the prepress process, from imaging and screening, through plates and platemaking to the press room with adapters and sleeves.
“With increasing cost pressures and supply challenges in the marketplace, it’s more important than ever to underscore our strong commitment to helping customers in everything they do,” said Dan Rosen, Chief sales, national accounts in North America at XSYS. “Processors are challenged by demands to reduce costs and improve sustainability, while struggling to retain qualified staff while maintaining high quality. We have best-in-class solutions for every segment of the packaging market that enable converters to be brilliant, deliver to their customers and stay competitive in tough times.’
General Manager of Plates, Eric Gibbs, works closely with industry stalwarts Dan Rosen, who has over three decades of experience in flexo plate technology, and Joe Czaplewski, newly appointed Director of Sales for rotec products. Additionally, the management team includes James Van Buskirk, who was recently promoted to technical director of plates and prepress equipment.
“As XSYS, we are a stronger, more focused unit that can respond quickly to our customers and any market changes,” Gibbs said. “And because we design, manufacture and manufacture all of our plates, sleeves, adapters and plate-making equipment ourselves, we can guarantee that we provide best-in-class solutions that work seamlessly throughout the process of prepress and in the press room.”
XSYS recently added in-house production of rotec offset plate sleeves and rotec offset blanket sleeves to the capabilities of the Asheville, NC plant to ensure a more reliable supply to customers in North America.
“Local production and support is a huge benefit to our customers, especially with the supply issues the market is currently experiencing,” Czaplewski said. “Rotec’s offering is now the strongest in the North American market and customers know they can trust us because they see that we are investing heavily in this area to ensure a fast and reliable supply of sleeves and adapters. ‘
XSYS is preparing to increase its presence in the market with more personnel and investments. According to Gibbs, US and Canadian teams are seeing strong demand for XSYS imaging technology and platemaking equipment due to the high levels of automation they offer, not only in terms of quality, but also in terms of mitigating staffing issues and eliminating any waste in the process.
“Customers are investing and reinvesting with XSYS, buying new, more automated equipment, so they can maintain productivity despite serious staffing issues and a shortage of skilled workers,” Gibbs said. “This, in turn, adds to their green goals – as there is less waste and lower energy consumption – and increases cost savings. What they get is simply consistent, high quality plates that will produce excellent flexo prints for their customers.
“Our clients know us and trust us, and their feedback on organizational changes has been overwhelmingly positive. They are solely focused on technology, and our strong proposition and dedication to the flexo industry is why they chose XSYS as their partner for the future,” concluded Rosen.
